Andrew started with Ascent in 2018, shortly after graduating from Oakland University with a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT). Dr. Grix has a background in neurorehabilitation, working with complex and chronic pain patients to find relief. He implements a holistic approach to inspire confidence and help patients find joy in movement again. Andrew integrates hands-on orthopedic techniques along with customized home exercise programs to help patients reach their goals. His range of knowledge and creative outlook allows for a personalized treatment plan that will help you obtain the results you are looking for.


Ms. Mili Gandhi MPT

Physical Therapist at Ascent

Expertise: Manual Therapy, Exercise Prescription, and Wellness in the Elderly.

Mili Joined Ascent in 2016 and has been a vital and strong part of the team. She graduated with a Master’s in Physical Therapy from Wayne State University in 2004. Her interest areas are in the treatment of chronic pain in the elderly and the ongoing promotion of health and wellness in the geriatric populations. Mili embodies the Ascent approach in its entirety and constantly strives to uphold the patient-centered approach to care that defines our practice. She wishes to further specialize in the areas of women’s health and pelvic floor physical therapy to continue expanding her expertise.


Dr. Shankar Krishnan

Dr. Shankar L. Krishnan PT, DPT, MBA

Owner and Physical Therapist at Ascent

Expertise: Manual Therapy, Exercise Prescription, Dry Needling, & Health Promotion and Wellness.

Shankar has been a PT in practice in Michigan for the past 23 years. He finished his Bachelor of Science in PT from the University of Delhi, India in 1997 before moving to the United States to further his education and career. He finished his OMPT and Fellowship in OMPT with the Manual Therapy Institute and then went on to earn his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Des Moines University, IA. He started Ascent Physical Therapy to create a practice that focused on a results-oriented approach to patient care with an emphasis on one-on-one care, hands-on therapy, and superior outcomes for both immediate and long-term health promotion. Shankar’s background and practice expertise are in the area of managing and treating chronic pain, specifically in spinal pain arising from musculoskeletal and neurological casualties. By utilizing a multimodal approach consisting of manual therapy, corrective exercises, and physical modalities, Shankar has been able to consistently succeed in eliminating his patient’s pain and help them with focusing on lifelong mobility.
